The place to go if you need to spruce up your home. This Canadian company makes functional, simple and sleek furniture for every room in your house. They also carry classic designs such as the very popular EAMES chairs which seem to be trending right now. On Saturday afternoons, I like go to get an eyeful and to shop around at Marimekko, located inside of the store. They have dishware and kitchen items with bold and irresistible prints!

My very own Toys“R”Us! I first spend a lot of time looking at their selection of designer items and art books near the entrance. I move on to their carefully picked jewelry collection. I continue browsing through their various clothing displays that include minimalist Scandinavian brands such as Flippa K, Normann Conpenhagen, Hope, etc. Then, I’ll take a moment to drool over the rows of signature shoes. Finally, I spend some time chatting with the very friendly and welcoming owner, Jonah, who is the brains behind this business. Bravo!

The newbie on the Boulevard. The decor is what first caught my attention. This venue was actually a diner 25 years ago and that was the last time anyone had set foot in there. The new owners have salvaged the place while maintaining as much as they could from the original setting: the long bar near the entrance, the swivel stools and the old plywood on the walls. There is a nice selection of dishes to choose from (tapas size), perfect for cocktail hour or for a late night snack, thanks to the kitchen staying open until the wee hours of the morning.

One of my weekend classics! I often go for brunch with friends or alone after my workout. I enjoy the casual atmosphere, the menu variety and the coffee – special edition – courtesy of Georges the waiter. Feels just like home.

My friends have been telling me about hot yoga for a long time. I was already an enthusiast of a more traditional form of yoga and was skeptical about the idea of forcefully sweating in a room at 35 degrees Celsius. It only took one try before I began to feel the benefits of this particular discipline and for me to subscribe to Moksha. You will find an oasis of blissfulness where time stops in the midst of this noisy city.

My go-to store for gifts for my friends. Their selection of designed jewelries is to die for. The shop owner definitely has a knack for finding the right international collections. Besides, what she cannot find, she makes herself! Silver, stones, leather… all materials and all price points are available. Needless to say, I rarely walk out empty-handed!
