LA MAIN NON-STOP !

LA MAIN NON-STOP !

The Société de développement du boulevard Saint-Laurent (SDBSL) in collaboration with MTL 24/24 present LA MAIN NON-STOP! a pilot project that will take place on the night of Saturday, February 25th 2023.

Saint-Laurent Boulevard is a major force in Montreal’s nightlife economy. The borough of Plateau-Mont-Royal and the City of Montreal are giving night owls a gift by allowing participating bars, restaurants and entertainment venues to stay open all night*.

This pilot project is intended to allow Montrealers and tourists to discover and rediscover the culturally rich street. For the first time, 18 businesses in the area, between Sherbrooke Street and Laurier Avenue, are open until the early hours of the morning and planning special programming as part of the Nuit Blanche de Montreal event.

With this project, we want to evaluate the impact on security, incivilities and noise levels in the public domain by allowing establishments to close at different times and thus avoid large crowd gatherings.

The SDBSL’s mission is to implement a project that meets the expectations of citizens and visitors, as well as participants and local authorities. For this reason, we believe that it is essential to develop a plan on mitigation measures to make the project a success. The SDBSL, the SPVM and Poste de quartier 38 will be working together throughout the project to ensure a successful event.

In order to make the site safe during the event, we will proceed with the following measures :

◾ We will ensure the presence of a security service outside each of the participating establishments, and on patrol in the territory during the night in order to prevent incivilities, crowd gatherings and to control the noise levels.

◾ We will ensure the presence of a medical team on the public domain to provide first aid to people in need and for emergencies.

◾ SDBSL employees will also be present on site to ensure and facilitate the contact between the security services, medical team, police forces, participating businesses and citizens.

If you have any questions about the event, you can contact us at info@sdbsl.ca.
