NUIT BLANCHE ON THE BOULEVARD

For the Nuit Blanche, the Saint-Laurent Boulevard is collaborating with the MURAL Festival to offer you a guided tour like you’ve never seen before!

We are offering three guided tours at night (of course!) to discover the murals in a different light. We have of course selected the best person to lead the tours: André Bathalon – co-founder of the festival and Director of Communications and not to mention connoisseur of urban art! Glenn Castanheira, General Manager of the SDBSL, will also be present to share historical facts during the route.

But that’s not all! [...]

MURAL FEST 2015

One weekend is good, but two is better!

Because you love it so much and so do we, the MURAL Public Art Festival returns bigger than ever in 2015!

For its 2015 edition, MURAL will extend over a period of 11 days – yeah, ELEVEN DAYS! Starting on Thursday June 4th, the festival will continue on until Sunday the 14th. The boulevard will be closed between Sherbrooke and Mont-Royal.

This means even more activities than last year. More entertainment, more music and of course, more time to stroll the Main which will be closed to traffic for the duration of the festiv [...]

SHOP THE NEIGHBOURHOOD ON THE SAINT-LAURENT BOULEVARD

On Saturday, November 29th, the Saint-Laurent Boulevard is turning totally yellow!

An initiative from the Yellow Pages Group, the event Shop the Neighbourhood aims to promote buying locally.

Funny coincidence (it’s not a coincidence, that’s the secret!), it falls during the weekend of the American Black Friday. If you still didn’t get the message: November 29th, we shop locally! And the holiday season will be quickly approaching after that, so it’s the perfect occasion to start your shopping earlier this year (yes, we say it all the [...]

THE CINÉMA L’AMOUR BUILDING IS 100 YEARS OLD!

It’s not Cinéma L’Amour that’s turning 100 years old on October 15th (let’s take it easy!), but the building in which it is located. And even if it bears no relation, we still find it interesting to mention that, among the different theaters that have occupied the place, it is the Pussycat that gave it its sexual calling…in 1969! Things like this can’t be made up.

Cinéma L’Amour opened its doors in 1981 – that’s more than 30 years ago! It is incidentally erotic and pornographic movies that have allowed theaters like this one to stay [...]

INTERVIEW “10 YEARS – 10 QUESTIONS” WITH ROUGE BAR

Rouge Bar turns 10 on October 12th 2014! This is already an impressive age in the world of independent business, but in the nightlife world, it’s quite an achievement!

So we met with the owner of the establishment, François Boitard, and asked him 10 questions for the 10-year anniversary of his bar (that kind of concept!).

1. Hello François! Thank you for meeting with us and for participating in this mini-interview to mark the 10th anniversary of Rouge Bar. Wha [...]

« HÉROS DE KARAOKÉ » PILOT PROJECT

The initial announcement of the project has already made some noise some time ago, but here are the details of the outdoor karaoke pilot project: the Société de développement du boulevard Saint-Laurent, in collaboration with the Plateau-Mont-Royal borough, presents Héros de Karaoké, an initiative of Frédérik Nissen and Sport agency!

This outdoor family event will take place on Saturdays, September 27th, October 4th and 11th at Parc du Portugal from 2pm to [...]

THE 18th JOURNÉES DE LA CULTURE

The 18th Journées de la culture is proud to introduce you to the Saint-Laurent Boulevard once again.

Particularly thanks to the murals painted during the 2nd edition of the Mural Festival, the Main continues to change, beautify and modernize – all while keeping an iconic and historical past that is not found anywhere else in Montreal.

It will therefore be the Amis du Boulevard and LNDMRK who will take care of making you discover historical sites and murals on the Saint-Laurent Boulevard and its surroundings.

The Jo [...]
