A parklet is an urban design relatively new to North America that allows people to reclaim public space.
Last year, the Saint-Laurent Boulevard collaborated with the Plateau Mont-Royal borough to instal the very first parklet in Canada! It was so successful that it’ll be back again this summer. Passersby can stop to enjoy the view while enjoying a snack or a meal purchased from somewhere nearby, like a smoked meat sandwich from Schwartz’s, an ice cream cone from Ripples or a chicken sandwich from Coco Rico.
The parklet has also been painted by Philippe Mastrocola to make it way more pretty and attractive. We actually think you won’t want to leave once you sit there. Sorry.
During your next stroll on the Main, stop by the corner of Saint-Laurent Boulevard and Bagg Street for a break in the parklet, open 24 hours a day!
